My favourite shot from 2010 was taken on the shortest day of the year in December, this day last year, with the aid of a lunar eclipse to boot! After an hour freezing on top of Strandhill, it paid off in the end with the most unbelievable sunrise I’ve ever seen in Ireland.

The panoramic shot below was the scene unfolding in front of me, but by just turning around, you could see an almost equal mega sight, with eerie fog rising from the sea, the eclipse turning the sky a little red, not as much as I had hoped, but lovely nonetheless. The result was the second shot. How could you not include the stunning Strandhill village also….third shot. Three keepers from a mornings work, not bad at all!!

I haven’t even ventured out today, it’s dull, grey and not very inspiring photography wise. Instead I’m almost done with all the Xpan shots from my recent USA road trip, so stay tuned for a big update with those very soon.
